Movie 1

The variable-pitch counter-rotating propellers are designed as a turbofan whose two ring blades not only provide thrust in the direction of flight but also stabilize rotation and ensure quiet engine operation with built-in noise protection.

Movie 2

In the take-off phase, the two annular blades of the variable-pitch propeller - the yellow and the red - generate thrust in the direction of travel and flight respectively, while in flight, when the design speed is reached, only the largest red annular blade generates thrust in the direction of flight.

Movie 3

The animation shows a small RES-Airbus, which is designed for future regional air traffic and can accommodate up to twenty passengers. Two annular, counter-rotating, electrically driven wings are arranged aft exactly at the point where the laminar flow around the spindle-shaped fuselage breaks. The two different sized annular wings form a stage to generate torque for the propeller and thrust in the direction of flight. The suction sides of the annular wings are each oriented towards the fuselage. The angle of attack of the blades of the radial rotor is adjustable.
