The spherical tracker is capable of combined movements and can be used in a cable-supported, trackable PV system. The individual PV modules can be designed as a curtain facade in front of a glass structure and serve as sun protection. A stacked arrangement is easily possible, providing perfect shading while allowing daylight into the interior. The invention specifically refers to a very small, compact, spherical electric motor at the junction of a cable net structure, which can be designed as a flat surface or as a two-axis curved surface. Using the building envelope to generate energy is a straightforward concept. This high-tech solution for large-scale glass façades demonstrates how this can be achieved elegantly. Sufficient light enters the interior spaces, and building occupants can enjoy the view. This sustainable solution showcases progress in the form of spherical electric actuators that enable two-axis tracking of photovoltaic collector surfaces of any size with minimal energy consumption. The electric actuators track the sun’s position using a timer, for example at 15-minute intervals. An electromagnetically operated locking mechanism secures the collector panels in their respective positions, requiring no energy between intervals. Why not ask someone who knows about this?
