The specification as super conducting radial flux machines is claimed in the patent. This highly innovative turbofan engine brings together two inventions that will shape the future of electric aircraft propulsion. I would like to take this opportunity to celebrate the first flight of this superconducting turbofan engine electric machine. This electric turbofan engine incorporates a cryostat housing a superconducting induction system with concentrated windings, enabling the generation of a robust magnetic field with high torque density and low current. The engine is a thrust-generating arrangement consisting of two counter-rotating propellers, each with an annular airfoil. The smaller component acts as a flow guide for the larger one. During the initial phase of take-off, it is important to note that both annular airfoils generate thrust. However, during subsequent flight, only the larger airfoil contributes thrust, which is mainly generated by the radial blades of both propellers. Aircraft manufacturers should consider this issue further.
