Grant decision for European Patent has been made https://lnkd.in/dyvWwXj The 350 meter long and 50 meter wide container ship "Looperator", which is based in Hamburg, is equipped with 4 pod drives, which are arranged at the stern of the ship and rotate in pairs in opposite directions. The bridge and deck house of this giant of the seas are located in the center of the ship, so that the container ship does not have to perform any turning maneuvers in port. The four propulsion units, each of which can rotate 360 degrees around a vertical steering axis, eliminate the need for rudders and tugs. The ship's propulsion system consists of a compact fusion reactor that takes up no more space than a conventional ship's diesel engine, including all its auxiliary systems.
