This ship thruster operates electrically in two directions - simply by changing the direction of rotation of the rotor. The staircase sequence of three circular vanes acts as a bidirectional turbine. This system constitutes a significant simplification compared to the state of the art, where two separate thrusters are used to operate in both directions.

The cascaded turbine is equipped with fixed annular guide vanes to influence the inlet of circular blades. The circular blade of the ring-shaped rotor is thus struck at an inclined angle to the axis of rotation, so that it provides thrust in the direction of flight. The cascaded turbine has a ring blade fan and several successive stages as a secondary modules.
