While four wheel hub motors are provided for propulsion on the road, electric motors are used at the front and rear ends of the vehicle to rotate a total of eight bow-shaped rotor blades so that thrust is generated from the lifting force of the rotating variable suction side wing profiles. The rotor blade is divided into three longitudinal sections, each of which has a variable airfoil #resblade that can change the orientation of the suction side at a frequency of 14 Hz. For the change from hover to straight flight, the diameter with the turning points P-P' can be adjusted in a pivoting range so that a thrust force is generated in the direction of flight in both halves of the path due to the lift generated by the asymmetric airfoil profile. This increases the speed of the rotor blades so that the vehicle reaches approximately the same speed (160 mph) in the air as on the road. RES - Aircab

RES-Aircab is the first and only e-mobile, capable of vertical lift directly from the asphalt. Under the 'hood' and in the 'trunk' there are two rotor modules each consisting of two counter rotating clamp-shaped rotor blades which can be unfolded, when the car is lifted by four hydraulic telescopes, while initiating the start sequence and which are re-folded after landing. The counter rotating clamp- shaped rotor blades deliver uplift in abundance in the horizontal longitudinal segments. Vertical segments of the clamp- shaped rotor blades are used as vertical stabilizer. The clamp-shaped rotor blades rotate at a speed of 800 revolutions per minute. For the rotary blade kinematics, this means 26 load changes per second. Res-Aircab is an uncompromising flying machine for four persons and can be used as an e-mobile in regular street traffic without making any compromise on driving performance due to the low center of gravity. Climb, descent and curve flight of manmade airplanes require individual activation of different adjustable planes such as the rudder plane, the elevator plane and the aileron plane, whereas for example a hawk shows an unsurpassed maneuverability solely executed by wings and tail. What would a future airplane look like following this role model given by nature? Is it possible to maneuver an airplane mainly by wing adjustments? The RES-Foldable Airplane reveals a new maneuvering system for the airframe of an airplane. The foldable airframe comprises a fuselage extending between a bow and a tail segment, four wings forming a square together with nodal elements, connected among each other in a way that the distance between nodal elements at the bow segment and nodal elements at the tail segment of the fuselage can be varied during flight, by either shortening or expanding the distance between bow- and tail-sided nodes. An airplane having a dihedral arrangement of the wings will climb by shortening the distance and it will descend by widening the distance between the nodes at bow and tail. Curve flight will be possible by separated adjustment of star board sided wings and port board sided wings. For road operation, they are stored within the car and for flight operation they can be unfolded. If the distance between the two nodes and the fuselage is changed, the angle of attack of the front and rear wings changes in opposite directions. The pair of wings on the starboard and port sides can be moved independently of each other, so that all the functions of a conventional tailplane can be performed with the four wings alone by changing the angle of attack. In this way, a conventional tail unit can be dispensed with, for example at the rear of the aircraft, which significantly reduces drag. A turbine is integrated in the body of the car with characteristic air intake on the top and air exhaust on the rear.
